Zoo Curators have the important job of being in chart of the various collections of exotic animals in zoos. Large zoos can have curators specialising in different animal classes such as birds, reptiles, mammals and fish.
Curators are responsible for supervising the design of enclosures with the aim of providing a stimulating environment for the animal while providing visual access to visitors.
Curators are also responsible for overseeing the day to day running of the zoo and movement of animals not only within the zoo but between zoos.
To become a curator you may need a Degree in Animal Science or similar. Vast experience working in close association with captive animals is also highly desired.
